I was pretty aggravated, but we headed back home, changed clothes, and decided to go look for owls instead. Within about five minutes, we spotted this beautiful female barred owl tucked away in the woods.

Times Square

Turtle Sunset

United States Capitol at night

It was my last night in D.C. I hopped on a scooter and visited several monuments, and most were somewhat busy. But when I made it to the Capitol, the only person there was a single security guard, who you can barely see in the picture. It felt like the Capitol shut down for a few minutes just so I could capture this shot.

Vietnam Memorial

Vietnam Memorial at Night

Waiting to Cross

Washington Monument at Night

White-tailed Buck

White-tailed Buck in Full Velvet

This is one of my favorite buck pictures. He emerged from the woods very early in the morning, so I had to use a slow shutter speed and spray-and-pray. I was just about to head home when I spotted this guy chasing a doe through the woods. He was so close, and the light was only breaking through a narrow part of the canopy.
